Agreed. 12 wins in this year's SEC is not all that impressive.

And yes, I'm aware that my Commodores only managed 10, which is why I'm not overly optimistic about their tournament chances.

I hear you. Based on that, they have to be in. But when you look at their RPI, they can't be considered a lock. UK is a very, very interesting "bubble" team. Their conference record screams "IN". Their RPI screams "MAYBE".

The Commodore's tourney chances? How about the Hoosiers? I have zero optimism about their NCAA chances. I can easily see them getting bounced in the 1st round. Especially now that I'm hearing there is a split in the locker room and that the player's basically don't respect or listen to Dakich at all.

I agree with you guys that I'll feel much more comfortable if UK is able to beat Ole Miss or Georgia on Friday.

It probably helps more if it's Ole Miss.

I can see Tubby taking IU out on Friday night.

I don't think it matters who it is. If they get to 20 wins, with 13 of them coming in-conference, they've GOT to be in.

Sweet revenge. Brian Smith takes out the Cats and Tubby takes out the Hoosiers.

I agree with Wily. They win one more, they're in fo sho.

Even though one more W would only get them to 19, Wily.

    Whoops my bad.

Damn, Dab, you got some real jackasses writing for your paper down in Nashville... isn't he supposed to hate UT?? Tell him to get off Bruce's jock.

Joey Brackets, however, has said on more than occasion that at this point UK is playing for seeding in the tournament, not whether or not they get in... he's the guy whose opinion about all of this I value the most.

That's the "free" paper in Nashville, kinda like CityBeat in Cincinnati, if you're familiar. They actually do a better job coving Vandy than the regular paper, as the UT love is even stronger in the Tennesseean, which we Vandy fans refer to as the UTennessean -- real original, huh?

You've got to remember, it's a UT town... there are more UT fans in Nashville than there are in Knoxville, even.

Hmmm, I didn't really know that... makes sense now that I think about it. Sorta sad.

Interesting stuff from ESPN live chat:

Kurt (Wilmington, NC): Can Kentucky pull off an 8 or 9 seed, possibly in Raleigh, with UNC on the other side??

Chris Low: (12:44 PM ET )I think Kentucky is tailor-made for that 8-9 seed, which could be bad news for a No. 1. I wouldn't want to face Kentucky in the second round with the way the Cats have played the last 6-7 weeks, save the Vanderbilt debacle.

Terribly. If you go to the Tennessean's website, the headings on the sports page are in this order: Titans, Preds, UT, Vandy, MTSU, high school.

If you want an eye-opening experience sometime, join a convoy headed across I-40 eastbound on a Friday night/Saturday morning on a UT home football weekend.

I knew I was a stanger in a strange land in 1995, when UT fans burned a car in Nashville to celebrate a UT football win over Bama.

    Personally, I'd rather be a 10 or 11 seed.
