Need Some Advice on this Trade

    Alright, I would be trading:

Jake Peavy, Fausto Carmona, and Troy Tulowitzky

    for

Hanley Ramirez, Aaron Harang, Chien-Ming Wang, and Francisco Liriano.

    Pull the trigger?

I'm a little bit wary of giving up a beast like Peavy. But then again, Hanley and Harang are pretty beastly themselves.

    What do you guys think?

Probably would have to know the scoring system.

From a different thread JWP started, he said it is a standard (5x5 I'd assume) 12 team league.

Here is his team, just to help him and everyone trying to give advice on this trade.

    C Ivan Rodriguez
    1B Mark Teixeira
    2B Robinson Cano
    SS Troy Tulowitzki
    3B Edwin Encarnation
    LF Ryan Braun
    CF Josh Hamilton
    RF Ken Griffey Jr.

    Bench:
    Mike Napoli
    Willy Taveras
    Jay Bruce

    Pitching:
    SP Jake Peavy
    SP Josh Beckett
    SP Fausto Carmona
    SP Jeff Francis
    SP Ian Snell
    RP Manny Corpas
    RP Hideki Okajima
    RP Billy Wagner

    Bench:
    SP Edinson Volquez
    RP Hideki Okajima

I would do this trade. You get Hanley who will out produce Tulo in all categories. Harang will give you a similar WHIP and Wins, with about 30 less strikeouts then Peavy. Peavy is about a full run better in ERA though.

Wang will give you 16-20 wins playing for the Yankees. His other stats don't help much though.

Liriano is the key. If he is healthy, he makes this deal a no brainer. It's just a matter of if you think he'll be healthy this year.

This is an easy yes. Your rotation sucks and needs a boost.
But also your team has no speed and Hanley fixes that.
    This is assuming it's roto....

If it's H2H, then its much closer.

Rotation sucks... he's got two of the top 5 starters in fantasy baseball!?

Now depth is a different issue...

I agree, you have Peavy, Beckett, and Carmona and your rotation sucks? Damn.

I would definitely pull the trigger. Hanley is a premier player, and I would almost always trade two nickels for a dime in fantasy sports. Harang cushions the blow of the loss of Peavy, and it is a huge upgrade from Tulo to Hanley. Plus, Liriano gives you some serious upside for your rotation. I do the deal for sure.

Thanks for the advice guys. I decided to take the deal. If Harang wasn't involved it would have been a definite no go.

I'm pretty sure your rotation is awesome. (?)
Tough call on the trade. Although you get Hanley who is easily the best player involved you lose Carmona and Peavy. Tulo is no slouch either, he's probably the 4th best SS in fantasy imo. I'd try and work someone other than Lariano into the deal.
