Nice to see Votto back in there.

Hopefully the offense wakes up against Kendrick tonight.

I'm thinking we get big games for Corey and Joey tonight.

the extremely hot spring training of Hatty is quickly fading in the distance.

I very much like the Reds lineup against Kendrick.

You're finally on board with Patterson hitting leadoff?

If Hatteberg plays against righties, he will hit, as he did last year, as he did the year before, as he did this spring. I'm happy that Votto is starting tonight, but this situation needs to be rectified. It just doesn't make sense to have both these guys -- both lefty hitting first baseman, neither a serious candidate to play other positions.

The Reds team is better, it's getting there, but some of the pieces don't fit.

True, but I bet that the Phillies like their lineup against Fogg as well.

I don't think it will be a 3-2 game tonight, that's for sure.

That's a situation in which we have to just accept it for what it is

    No.

Patterson is the guy there, and I am fine with that. His D alone makes me happy. I will just grin and bear it with regard to him leading off. He is what he is. But at that, he helps this club. A ton.

Accept that this 2008 Reds team is still a work in progress. Changes still need to be made in order for them to be legitimate contenders. It's a long season. They may become contenders by Sept. Let's sit back and see what unfolds.

No way. Freel's bat (which isn't even that good anymore) doesn't make up for Patterson's advantage in speed and defense.
