Even the throw was David Eckstein weak. That was about as bad as you can look on a routine grounder without tossing it away.

Hairston strikes out swinging. 1 out.

Hairston-Bako-Arroyo-Freel-Patterson. That's a pretty bad 5 man stretch right there.

Does Welsh not realize these pitchers warm up pregame? It not like Penny arrived 5 min before the game and picked up his glove.

I thought they had a day off.

I read the schedule wrong. It's next Monday they have off.

Oh, well, the wife will be happy. I get to fold laundry.
Some people play baseball. Baseball plays Jay Bruce.

Hairston was put in the game for his offense, not his defense. He is 7 for 14 his last 4 starts with a double in each game. A strikeout is not a good beginning, however.

Wife would appreciate my effort, but she takes pride in her methods in folding laundry and that is something I cant master.

Great AB by Bako. A 10 pitch walk.

    Re: Reds @ Dodgers--5/19/08

Last time i checked Hairston is not hitting too badly....and while we can assume he will start to not hit as well, why include him and even Freel in that list when they have been hitting well?

The only pitch Dunn got in the 1st was the first pitch down the pipe...after that he was swinging at bad balls. The strike 2 call to Votto was bad.

Nice bunt by Arroyo. Bako goes to 2nd. 2 outs.
