Could Cruz be had from Texas?

If so at what cost and why is Nelson Cruz not getting another shot in the bigs? I know he was blah last year with texas but his numbers in AAA are eyepoppoing again this year. Is he simply a AAAA guy or ould he be a decent RH bat?

Murphy, Bradley, and some guy named Hamilton have been eating up OF space all year in Texas. Might be a good target to deal with them for Cruz and a catcher for some sort of pitcher.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

Where does he play in the outfield, if he is a centerfielder then make a deal.

He has played almost every game in RF and only part of two games this year in CF.

Texas also seems to have an abundance of catchers too. Between Salty, Laird, Max Ramirez, and Taylor Teagarden, you'd think they'll need to move one or more of those guys at some point.

Belisle, Dorn & Tatum for Teagarden & Cruz?

This may be a good team to talk to with about Harang. They seem to have the prospects necessary and they aren't far back. Lord knows they need pitching.

teams don't typically swap prospects... i can't think of one occassion of a top prospect for top prospect deal that didn't include substantial ML players

    Does Garza for Young count?

When your desperate for pitching and don't have a clue how to judge talent in that area Belisle may look better than he is. I remember about 2 years ago the Rangers alledgedly had some interest in EZ Ramirez. It's befuddling I know but it's Rangers baseball.

Re: Could Cruz be had from Texas?

Nelson Cruz homered again tonight and now has a ridiculous 11 homeruns in his last 10 games spanning 44 atbats to give a total of 37 homeruns on the AAA season in only 345 atbats. His line is .348/.443/.733 - 1.176 and he also has 24 stolen bases in 31 attempts. Unbelievable. He turned 28 earlier this month but he's a guy I'd like to see Jocketty attempt to acquire. He could be the next Ryan Ludwick (who Jocketty also acquired) or at worst provide some solid right handed pop off the bench.

    Check out his stats:

Those are seriously mind blowing numbers. I don't even know what to say about that.

Nelson Cruz is what Jay Bruce will become if Bruce ever becomes a bust.

The Rangers need pitching and I would be willing to give them some depending on who they would want.
If you did trade for Cruz you would have to trade Dunn or Griffey to make room for him in the outfield.
