Arroyo has given up a boatload of seeing eye singles today.
Bronson gets a big K of the [sarcasm] dangerous [/sarcasm] Burriss for the second out. Following is Velez, the Gehrig to Burriss' Babe!
Velez flies out. 5-2 Reds after 5.5.
Nice job by Arroyo. The Giants had runners on first and third with only out but Bronson got a big strikeout and then a fly out to escape the jam.
5-2 Reds after six. That should be it for Bronson.

Don't look know, but with that scorless inning, Arroyo has his ERA down to 4.97.
Who would have thought he could ever have done that.
It was a 6.52 on June 24.
Since that time he has been (assumimg win today), 9-3 with a 3.28 ERA in 12 starts, averaging about 6 2/3rds inning per start, and includes 9 quality starts.
Of course, that's always true. When you go to the Big Lots to get a bargain, you usually get something that breaks after two uses. That's a lesson that most of our recent GM's didn't understand because we have a team full of Keppingers, Freels, Hoppers, Bakos, and Pattersons with a Cabrerra, Hariston, and a Andy Phillips thrown in on occasion.
Sometimes these acquitions work out for a brief time and sometimes they do not. That's the gamble.

I know he should have never traded Dunn and Griffey for a relief pitcher and some minor league fodder, this team needs offense. He paid to get rid of them too.

Votto going yard here would be "cool."
Would anybody be opposed to nicknaming Patterson "In play: Out(s)"?
In play: Out(s) up to bat. In play out(s) with a nice catch in center. In play: Out(s) is married to Dusty's daughter. In play: Out(s) should be riding the bench.
I like it.
That was some bad defense for the Giants there.
