Masset is back for the eighth against some better hitters.

Two pitches in, Nate McLouth sends his 24th homer of 2008 over the right-center field wall to put Pittsburgh back in the lead.

I like Hanigan a lot. He works the count and always seems to make his AB count. Castillo, however, on the other hand, looks like he won't be walking much.

Masset gets ahead 0-2 on Gomez but then runs the count full by missing low and outside with a trio of sliders. Finally he whiffs him for out number one.

Another full count on Mientkiewicz. This time Masset misses badly with a slider and puts him on.

Michaels grounds into a 6-3 double play to end the inning.

    6-5 Pirates after 7.5.

Valentin called back so CP can PH....

I would think he'd be bunting....

Dickerson sac bunt. I disagree with bunting there. Dickerson is crushing the ball whereas Kepp is an automatic out these days.

The Reds tie the score again versus recent trade pickup Craig Hansen! Castillo led off with a walk (!), then pinch-hitter Corey Patterson bunted his way aboard to put runners at first and second. Dickerson moved the runners along with a bunt of his own, then Hansen drove the run in on his own by uncorking a wild pitch. Keppinger walked, bringing up Phillips to face new pitcher TJ Beam with men on the corners and one out.
