On comes lefty Sean Burnett to replace Chavez. Votto steps in.

Now...do you trade him or keep him? His value is through the roof right now, and his minor league numbers would suggest that he won't be this type of player...at least offensively.

That's the tough decision that WJ gets paid to make...
The only problem is that other teams are privy to those minor league numbers as well.

Joey grounds out to short to end the inning.

    Tied at 5 after 6!

Nick Masset on to pitch the seventh.

He gets the ridiculously impatient Cruz to fly out on the first pitch. One down.

Called strike to the catcher Chavez, then the second pitch is grounded to Votto. 3-1 putout is the second out of the inning.

Masset then brutalizes Brandon Moss on three straight swinging breaking balls.

    5-5 tie after 6.5.

Masset has been fairly impressive since coming over in the trade.

Encarnacion leads off the seventh against Burnett. He takes a couple of strikes, but comes back to work the count full. But Sean whiffs him on a fastball inside for the first out.

Bruce gets ahead 3-1 in the count before grounding to first on a low fastball. Two outs.

Hanigan takes a strike, then lays off the next three. Burnett catches the corner to run the count full. Ryan fouls one off before flying out to center.

    5-5 tie after 7.

That 3-1 strike call on Hanigan was six to eight inches outside. Should have been ball four. You were right Frank Thomas.

    True.

I guess it's a better question if it were the deadline and not the end of the year...
