Brandon Phillips, now down to a .301-11-34-.963 OPS against lefties in 2008. He falls behind 1-2, then grounds back to the mound. Two down.

Joey Votto, now the only consistent hitter we've got left besides Dickerson. He strikes out swinging on a breaking ball.

According to Gameday, Gorzelanny threw all of two curveballs and one changeup out of 18 pitches that inning. Both curveballs retired a Reds hitter.

Remember what Frank Thomas said a couple weeks ago about umps widening the strikezone between non contending teams? He's right. Joey Votto took two pitches a good eight inches off the plate for called strikes. Terrible calls.

Ramon Ramirez isn't in Louisville either...he's with the big club, IN THE BULLPEN.

That's a waste if you ask me.

    Top of 2.

Noted slugger Raul Chavez spanks a Fogg pitch into center for a single. Gorzelanny follows with a first-pitch sacrifice bunt. One out, man on second.

Fogg manages to get McLouth on a fly to short right.

    Gomez works a full count.

Then slams his first homer of the season over the left-field wall. 5-0 Pirates.

A protracted battle between Fogg and Mientkiewicz concludes in a flyout to Bruce.

5-0 Pirates after 1.5. Gag me.
