There's a lot to be done with this team but we do have two fine young everyday players, Votto and Bruce. And let's keep hoping we've got a third, CD.

    Arroyo throws a 1-2-3 6th inning.

    6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 K, 107 pitches.

That should be it for Bronson. Another excellent start against a very tough offense. That brings his ERA down to 4.80 - not bad considering where it was on June 25th.

107 thru 6 for Bronson. With all his sitting tonight due to our unexpected offensive outbursts plus the field conditions...I'd say this should be it for Bronson. We've got some pretty fresh arms in the pen, no point pushing Bronson with a 9-0 lead.

Some folks aren't evem giving him a chance. We know he isn't this good, nobody is, but let's enjoy it for now.

Hairston never stopped hitting, derailed by injuries.

    Dickerson hasn't stopped hitting either.

Patterson never really started hitting, other than a few well timed HR's.

Votto doubles. Man is he on fire right now or what? He's 2-for-2 with a double, homerun, two walks, and 3 RBI tonight. Any other year and Votto may have won the Rookie of the Year.

Hmmm...Bronson out for the 7th. Not a big problem with this, but I'd keep him on a short leash and get somebody up.

107 pitches in six innings and he sends him back out there. Why am I not surprised?

That was strike three on Edmonds. He got squeezed there.

A walk to Edmonds and a RBI double by Koyie Hill makes it 9-1. Thanks Dusty. Way to ruin a brilliant start by continuing to have no clue when to pull a pitcher. The Reds aren't going to have any pitching left after Dusty runs them all in the ground.

Now he pulls him. 122 pitches in 6.1 innings. I can't stand Dusty Baker.

bad job by Baker again, rolling a guy up to 120 pitches with a 9 run lead

at the very least they should have a 6-man rotation going so these starters are getting an extra day, but that won't happen
