LOL. What in the world was Edwin doing swinging at THAT pitch?!? Hehehe.

After fouling a ball off that was above his head, Edwin pops out down the line and everyone holds. Bruce up.

    Bruuuuuuuuuce! Granny!!!!! WOOHOO!! 9-0 Reds!

This team is NOT as bad as everyone thinks it is. We've just had a lot of players struggling/slumping/injured for extended periods this season. We do need some additions without a dobut, but we're not as far away as people think.

Bruce is a stud. I had a good feeling he was going to hit a grand slam right there. That was just a beautiful piece of hitting. That ball was down and away and he went with the pitch and crushed it deep into the left field seats.

6 k's for Bronson, no walks, no runs, only 3 hits (all infield varieties). Sharp. VERY sharp.

~edit~ Crap. My bad. As soon as I say it...Soriano walks.

I'm likin' this game! Couldn't have come against a more despised team.

Hopefully the Reds can continue this and send the Chubs home with three losses this weekend.

Five shutout innings by Arroyo. 9-0 Reds after 4 1/2.

Patterson, Hairston, Dickerson. What do they all have in common besides their last names ending in "on"?

They all filled the roll of the new leadoff guy that could do no wrong for a brief period.

Next year they need to have about 10-12 of these guys who become the new leadoff hitter every two weeks.

Okay, that's what they all have in COMMON...what do they do differently? Patterson is all glove no stick. Hairston is average at both but extremely injury prone. Dickerson has a WELL above average glove, speed and his stick has been extremely solid ALL year long...not just since the call up. Dickerson has a MUCH better chance of being the real deal than either of the other two. And on the plus side...he costs us VERY little money for a while. If nothing else, he buys us time without costing us defense or speed.

Hairston played very well, and Dickerson has played very well. Gotta problem with their performances?

Can we at least wait until Dickerson's OPS drops below 1.100 before we start bashing him?

    No.

It has been declared he sucks. There shall be no enjoyment of his good play of late.

    Get with the program.
