J. Bruce grounded out to second
Patterson with a hit
I don't look for a good bullpen next year but by 2010 I think we'll be better. I do think we know pretty clearly who won't be back next year: Majewski, Weathers, Affeldt, Lincoln, Coffey, Belisle. And I don't think it's a lock that Bray will be back with his 1.61 WHIP. I look for Cordero, Burton, Masset to be joined, possibly, by Roenicke, Fisher, and Ramirez, with the last spot going either to Bray or to a significant upgrade. I suspect those earlier rumors regarding Sherrill and Street had something behind them. Finding one more really solid reliever like those guys would be a way to improve this team a lot with one move.
Bruce grounds out, the Patterson with a single.
Bako K's. Valentine up, looking to hit a 5 run homerun. Come on Javy!
Game over. Well, at least the Cubs fans didn't get their blowout. Instead they got to see their own bullpen explode. Good. Always try to see the silver lining. :O)
The Reds were playing for four runs when they needed nine.
Okay, here's the scary part. The Reds have scored 11, 7, 9, 2, 5, 8, 10 and 9 runs on this homestand so far. For a team that "won't score any runs the rest of the season" since Dunn left, that's looking pretty damned good. I know the first 2 series' were against the Giants & Pirates...but this club ain't a pushover and we've chalked up 19 on them in 2 games.
Just got back from the game.
Absoutley horrable.
The worst part was the fricken curtian call for Soriano. It was embrassing having that many Cubs fans in the stands to force a curtian call in our damn stadium.
I heart Majweski
