Jay Bruce is showing that he needs some serious work on his 'D'. Poor routes to balls, strong but erratic arm.

I know, I know....he's only 21. Doesn't change the fact that it's an area that he needs a lot of improvement.

And now Harang finds a way to walk Soriano. His command was very good today until the 7th inning.

And now Harang walks Hoffpauir. He's lost every bit of his command this inning.

    Lee makes the final out.

    Harang: 7 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 BB, 5 K...still a good start.

    3-1 Cubs after 6 1/2.

This is one of those games where the Reds are hurt by not having any September call ups to use. With Dickerson unavailable, Dusty only has Bako, Valentin, and Castillo left on the bench. So he used Andy Phillips there, and got a strikeout. Andy Phillips now hitting .210 on the year.

Edit: That is one poor bench there....

Why is EE catching a high infield popup on the first base side of the line between 2nd and home and leaving 3rd base uncovered with a runner on 2nd?

Because he's Edwin. Phillips was calling the world off and here comes Edwin!

Keppinger draws a one out walk. The Reds 1/2/3 hitters are 0-for-10 today.

I can't wait to see these same ignorant Cubs fans crying their eyes out when the Cubs are eliminated in the first round again this season.

And the Cubs announcers mentioned that nobody was covering third since Kepp covered 2nd....Luckily, the Cubs runner at 2nd did not notice that noone was there in time.

And on comes Kerry Wood. What fun.

What are the odds that Harang will lose 20 this year?

Cordero gets three outs (and gives up two walks) in a scoreless 9th.

Reds down 3-1 going into the bottom of the 9th facing Kerry Wood.
