Hopefully the bullpen can hold this lead so Ramirez can pick up his 1st major league win.

With the scaricty of catching options you'd think they'd give him a test drive behind the plate to see if he's got anything.

    Nope...just more Bako.

Classic quote from the Brewers TV annoucer, Re: Castillo.

"Where has this guy been all year for the Reds?"

Castillo with a sweet drag bunt. Switch hitter, plays everywhere -- kid is a very nicely skilled player, if not a star.

Great snag by Bill Hall. Turns it into a DP to boot. Nice.

Don't know if it's occurred to anyone. This game has meaning in the NL race. The Cubs series, this series, the Arizona series upcoming, all have meaning.

So the Reds are using some veterans. They're not experimenting with guys at uncertain positions. They are letting their starters go fairly deep into the games.

If the Reds play some games against non contenders, I think we'll see more emphasis on the young guys. Even now, some are playing, tonight a number of them.

Excellent diving catch by Castillo to end the 6th inning. Man this guy is playing well right now.

How about Ramon Ramirez? Yet another great start by that kid. He struggled mightily with his fastball command early in the game but really settled down to throw a gem.

    6 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 4 BB, 4 K. The only hit came in the first inning.
