It is sure nice to see the Reds win three straight series against contending teams. Boy have the D-Backs slumped. They have now lost 16 of their last 21.

Re: Sunday 9/14 game thread vs D-Backs

Interesting facts on the Arizona Series:

--The Reds outscored the DB's 7-6.

-- Arizona outhit the Reds 22-20

-- The Reds were up to the plate 105 times and got 20 hits for a .190 avg.

-- The Reds left a whopping 40 runners on base, but the DB's left 75!

-- Reds pitchers allowed only 5 earned runs in the series for a 1.60 ERA

-- Reds pitchers walked 23 runners in 28 innings

The Reds were anemic on offense, but the DB's were worse. Some of the Reds and their hitting statistics must be some kind of world record:

    Dickerson - 3-8
    Richar - 2-10
    Votto - 2-12
    Encarnacion - 3-11
    Bruce - 1-11
    Castillo - 0-6
    Valentin - 2-3 (piinch hitting)
    Patterson - 2-9
    Bako - 1-3
    Keppinger - 1-11
    Rosales - 1-4
    Hairston - 0-4
    Cabbera - 0-2
    Owings - 1-1
    Hannigan - 2-6

How in the world did we win two games? Because the other team was worse than we were on those three days with runners in scoring position--by a lot, due to our staff's inability to throw strikes consistently. We were lucky the DB's were down or it could have been ugly.
