Glad for the runs, but it's the pitching. The Reds have pitched outstanding lately. When you do that, and do it consistently, eventually you will score some runs and win.

    Back to the game.

Hairston K's, flips his bat, and now is arguing.

This ump is awful. Hairston gets called out on a 1-2 pitch at his ankles. Pathetic.

I thought Hairston might have been tossed.

So did I...he'll be fined for the bat flip, probably.

FWIW, Gameday has the called 3rd strike on Hairston on the inside corner at the hollow of the knees.

Cordero in to pitch? Why. This is where Dusty doesn't think ahead. This would have been a perfect situation for Josh Roenicke.

Pujols lines out to Patterson for the first out.

Arroyo has a chance to lead this club in wins by the end of the season...depends on how he and Volquez do down the stretch.

Don't know if he'll be around next year, but I like Hairston. He's played great, he's a real competitor. Would like to see hiim on the club next year in some role.

Nice catch by Patterson. He hasn't hit, but this guy is really terrific in centerfield.

Pujols tonight: 0-4 with 0 BBs. One of the few games you'll see Pujols absent on the basepaths against any team, much less against the Reds.

I like Hairston when he plays. Unfortunately, he spends a lot of the time on the DL.

Can't count on him to be an everyday player, but he can certainly do some things with this club.
