Frank Thomas, you were right. Votto gets rung up on a 2-2 pitch at his ankles. Wow.

Seems like we've been saying Volquez lacks command quite a bit lately.

That happens when a guy gets tired. Volquez is in unchartered territory in terms of innings pitched plus Dusty has overworked him lately.

Yes....i agree with that OBM....but Volquez has problems with pitch counts all year.

For all the stuff this guy has....he sure let's a lot of bad hitters foul pitches off him and frankly....he messes around with bad hitters then loses his mechanics.

Great play by Votto on the bunt. The guy really plays with purpose.

Jolbert Cabrera flies out weakly on a 3-1 pitch to begin the 4th. Geez.

Mel Queen pitched good too and then was done. That team was in 1st until around June with good pitching and decent hitting....at least for that year anyways. Hitting was way down all over the leauge.....no team scored 700 runs, i think.

Ted Abernathy was the middle/set up and closer all in one.

Another walk to Schumaker. Here comes another big inning. Hopefully Dusty just pulls him after five innings because he clearly doesn't have it tonight.

Ah, Ted Abernathy--the submariner. Used to amaze me.

Volquez retires Miles and Pujols after the walk but freaking Felipe Lopez singles in a run to make it 4-2.

Three of those five walks have come around to score. I see no reason to send Volquez back out for the sixth inning. Give his arm a rest for once.
