Once again, Cueto throws six straight fastballs. Where is the changeup or slider. I wonder who is called these pitches.

Bako is the catcher. He should be responsible for calling the pitches.More reason to have Hanigan showing us what he can do in September.

Yep. Jeff Keppinger is a joke of a defensive player. All three of those runs should be unearned but unfortunately you can't assume the doubleplay. No wonder so many teams gave up on Keppinger. He's a liability in the field.

Every time Patterson gets a hit, some will will say either that he's earned a contract for next season, or the leadoff spot or whatever.

    Just saying.

Cueto's ERA jumps from 4.57 to 4.72 thanks to Keppinger. How many runs has this guy cost the pitching staff this season?

Most pitches are called from the dougout or by the pitcher.

Is that a recent development? I thought catchers called for pitches in the past.

    Keppingers defense is overrated.

I certainly hope we can find a shortstop who is durable as well as a good fielder (and can hit .270 or so). We see fantastic plays from most of the teams we play, but it's always the same for the Reds. A botched play dooms our team.

What's with Cueto and the low inside pitches tonight? I don't recall this before.
