And now it's 9-8 because someone forgot that he was supposed to get batters out and not let them hit everything. So much for a low scoring game, LOL

Paw Sox/Sea Dogs/Jet Hawks making a game of it. 9-8 Reds through 8. I just realized it's not the Jet Hawks anymore, but I forget who they are now.

    Edit: they're the Salem Sox.

    Volquez was a Rangers pitcher.

Say nice things about ex-Ranger pitchers.

Heather: I am guessing whoever is getting lit isn't making the team. Wins and losses don't matter much in spring training, and particularly not this year when so many teams are without a bunch of regulars. In the Reds' case (and Red Sox even more so), it means more guys getting time in spring games than they would otherwise be receiving.

Kennard and Pettyjohn were the ones who got hammered in the 7th and 8th innings.

True. Volquez might be more typical of the pitchers the Rangers trade away, Littleton seems more typical of the ones they keep.

It was Kennard and Pettyjohn that got roughed up for 3 apiece. Looks like Bisher came in with one out for Pettyjohn and retired two batters with a strikeout (don't know if he let any inherited runners score).

I'm not a big fan of the WBC, but I do like the opportunity to let guys like Frazier, Francisco and Valaika get extended looks.

If Dusty doesn't continually use him in the wrong situations, I think I'm gonna end up really liking the Gomes signing.

I'm well aware of that but the last time I had checked the score it was 9-2 so I was just surprised by the sudden onslaught of runs by the RS. The guys who matter all pitched all right today.

Answer to the Owings question about him pitching into the fourth inning from Fay:

Pitch limit was 50. He was only at 34 after the third.

Yeah but you have to like that 2 to 1 K/bb ratio!
