    I agree. I've never understood the contention of Smith being bullpen bound. He's got excellent stuff and I don't see any reason that he isn't starter's material. Regardless, he's definitely someone I'm keeping a close eye on this season.

    If there is one out, a runner on third, the runner should try and score on a ground ball on any "close play". The fact it waas close shows it was correct.

    The play was only close, according to the announcers, because the 3b hesitated at least two beats before deciding to come home.

    Which is to say, it should not have been a close play.

    I am not a fan of running into an out at home when your #3 hitter is due up next.
