Chris Heisey pinch hits and hits a shot off the batters eye in CF. It looked liked a homer but the umps ruled it a triple.

They just showed it on ESPN, that was weird. Are you tv watchers getting radar gun readings? Cause Daniel Bard's supposed to pitch in this game.

Reds don't seem to win any spring games these days.

    Arroyo's in midseason form.

Cordero's getting hit pretty hard again. 2 singles and a double, 1 run against, hasn't recorded an out yet.

(I think. I'm sort of mostly, half-way paying attention at this point.)

Red Sox radio guys seem a little concerned about Cordero.

Cordero gets a double play at 3B and 1B, but then walks the next better, followed by an 0-2 triple. He just doesn't have command of his stuff.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Dan Bard's in. Check the radar.

He didn't all last season, either.

Just so you know, he was pretty consistantly hitting mid 90's and hit 99 once that I saw.

Thanks for telling me. They keep saying he hits 100, but I've yet to see(or hear?) him do it.

Cordero ends up giving up 4 runs in his one inning of work.

Red Sox win 9-1. Box score is HERE.

And just in case anyone was interested the Radar gun had Cordero at around 93-94 with his FB, but he was tossing meatballs right accross the plate.

Cordero is really going to test Dusty's skills this year. How many games does Dusty let him blowup before he takes him out of the closer's role? They may need to DL him until he regains arm strength or whatever. We seem to have a plethora of RH relief pitching options. There's no reason to let him do what Danny Graves did to this team.
