    Strasburg vs. Darvish

Ignoring Boras's 50 Million dollar asking price and Darvish's posting price, if you had to take one, who would it be?

I like strasburg more because I trust college numbers more than I trust Japan numbers.

Strasberg b/c these great pitchers from Asia lose a little value when you drive them off the lot, it seems.

Darvish. It opens a new market for Cincinnati. Even if he only becomes a league average starter it's a long term investment into new territory.

Strasburg. Stuff wise, I think Aroldis Chapman of Cuba deserves to be in the same discussion as Strasburg and Darvish, though he is very raw and still needs to work on some things before he's as good as those two.

so 2 questions, what are the chances Strasburg drops to the Reds selection? What are the chances the Reds would select him if he were sitting there? Somebody on ESPN radio was saying that he thought he could play in the majors right now. How accurate is that?

I guess since I haven't seen anything about Aroldis Chapman defecting he won't get his chance to pitch in MLB. He may become that great what if.

It wouldn't be the first time I have heard it. A lot of people think he could step into the majors now and be a solid #3 starter.

with a high 90s fastball and a good slider you would have to have some terrible control to not be at least a average major league pitcher.

I read a report that if he pitched in the majors today Strasburg would be better than AJ Burnett.

As for his control, 1.5 BB/9 IP is pretty impressive.

I don't buy that report at all.... as for his control, its not as good as that number suggests. He is facing competition that just doesn't have a chance.
