Sun Deck's Campaign to get Votto/Bruce to the All Star Game

Ok fellas, here goes. I think both of these guys deserve consideration to make the All-Star game in 2009. I think if we pull together our heads (and Votes) we can be the reason why these guys are at the 2009 AS game in St. Louis.

I've been doing some calculations.

Do you realize that if each of us vote for each of these guys 200 times every day for 10 days, that's an extra 2,000 votes? 200 votes a day would take everyone here about the time they spend on the internet per day.

Go there to vote. When you are finished with 25 votes, just change the email address by adding a digit on or something. Whatever you want. You know they're doing this in New York, Boston, St. Louis, and every other serious baseball town.

Lets have our guys be the story. In this thread list off when you give "X" amount of votes for our boys. Who's in? Who will hold themselves accountable to send our two young guns to the All Star game instead of us getting the token 1 like we have for so many years?

That's fine. You don't have to do it. But I know some have PM'd me already about organizing a campaign to try and do it. I think it'd be a big lift to our young team and both of these guy's careers.

And I know it goes on in other cities on message boards because I see other fans doing the same type of stuff. If we can get a group together to stuff the ballot box, we can get them a spot in the All Star game as starters. But like I said, don't feel obligated by any means. Just for fun and it would be neat to know we had an impact like that.

I've probably popped about 80some odd votes right now. I'll start voting every night while I'm watching the game. Would be sweet getting them both in the All Star Game.

I think it would be huge and say a lot for our fan base. Too often guys aren't rewarded in this city for playing well in the way of All Star appearances where if they were in another city they'd be in no doubt and all over the networks. That isn't fair. I don't want our guys to miss the boat this year and if these two do, it won't be because some of us didn't do our due diligence as fans.

You're a Reds fan right? And this is a Reds board? right?

He's 22. He's OPS'ing .900+ and has been the best hitter on the team save Votto.

Show me 3 outfielders in the NL who all things considered have been better then Jay thus far...... I don't think you can do it.

Sorry. I am a Reds fan, don't get me wrong, but I am baseball fan too and I just don't think that Bruce has earned a trip to the All Star game quite yet.

Agreed, and I don't vote for every Red at every position. But when a guy has been pretty good or close considering the ages of these two, the fact I love the Reds pushes it over the top. I also think Pujols is more deserving then Votto but because I'm a Reds fan, I vote for Votto. See what I'm saying
