WT took an interesting route to that one.

Harang hasn't looked great but he's been effective up till now.

    Hope it continues.

Oh, I'm not saying I like it either. But if you are going to bunt early in the game with a runner on second and zero outs, that would be the situation I would consider it.

My being able to stomach it would be based on the hitter attempting to bunt for a base hit, as opposed to simply sacrificing.

I was thinking that play might be more palatable in the late innings of a tie game with your 8 hitter up.

FWIW, I just googled a run expectancy map by Tangotiger based on data from 1999 to 2002:

Runner on 2nd none out: 1.189 runs
    Runner on 3rd 1 out: 0.983 runs

There's a lot of circumstances to think about (ie. hairston being at bat instead of someone else), but based on that, even getting the bunt down successfully makes it a poor play, and there's a decent enough chance he doesn't even get it down. Looks like you were right.

The Ohio River looks blue. What's up with that? It's a high-def set.

How does Harang look? Does Phillips look like he has recovered from the flu?

I'm not really trying to be right or wrong, I would just like a different approach in that situation.

I don't care what you were trying.

Based on percentages, you were right.

    Deal with it.

I don't understand the need for personal attacks saying I'm right!

Despite the walk, a well-timed 10 pitch inning for Harang.

Does that count as a sack for the linebacker Nix? Loshe looked like he was bouncing off a brick wall there. :O)
