Whereas I'm having a hard time believing that Edwin will ever effectively utilize even a fraction of the "tools" people have described him as having -- given his awful plate approach at the dish and his continuously poor fielding at third (seriously, it's going on 3 seasons of bad defense now; the light ain't coming on).

Potato v. Potatoe -- I think there are valid points on both sides.

I err on the side of what's working as opposed to what hasn't worked in the past but has the potential of working better in the future.

I'd love for just about anybody to Wally Pipp Edwin because I'm just not sold on him either, I just don't think Rosales is it either although from a pure asthetic sense he's way more fun to watch than Encarnacion.

Good comp. If it were the 70s, and Taveras a MI, he'd be fine. I lke more power from the OF in the current era. But hats off to Willy, he's done really well so far.

Hey, I think me and Walt Jocketty were the only two excited about his signing. But don't worry, if we do get our money's worth out of him, you always have the backup of "well, things may have turned out ok, but his numbers coming in made it a bad signing, regardless of how he performs"
