Taveras with a beautiful bunt, that Thurston throws it away.

    Dickerson scores, Taveras on second.

Argh. Taveras thrown out at third.

The Reds can make less out of something better than any team in baseball. Boggles the mind. Taveras out at third and then Brandon swings at the first pitch and flies out. Inning over. Good grief.

Seven pitches. Good inning, but only seven pitches? Luke Hochevar is smiling

Votto would have been better served to go the other way with that pitch.....he usually does but he wanted to move the runner over.

Hard to argue with Tavares running though. I'd have been fairly irritated if he hadn't tested Ankiel's arm.

    It was Ludwick's. Not Ankiel's

    Re: Reds vs Cards 7/3/09

Reds made an aggressive baserunning play that didn't work out. Not such a big deal. Main thing is they got out in front with Dickerson and a good bunt play by Taveras.

Shame WT doesn't learn to hit the ball on the ground more often. That bunt play would never have worked with a slower runner. Infielders get all messed up rushing throws to get Taveras. He just needs to give himself more opportunities to use his speed rather than Ks and popups.

    1-2-3 inning for Homer.
