Most of the Reds runs today were produced by the offensive juggernaut of Aaron Harang.

Say that out loud and think about it the next time someone says the pitching is the problem with this team.

I thought Jim Kelch did an outstanding job on the TV side. He and Chris Welsh really worked well together. Maybe we have found a worthy successor to Uncle George.

I was thinking the same thing. In fact, two pitches before Aaron hit it, I said, "Ya know, that big ol' hoss is gonna get lucky some time and swing where the ball is, and he's gonna jack one!" And the very same AB, he did it!

Reds baseball is so much more enjoyable when you bet against them. This is flat out hysterical.

Thom Brennamen describes the way I feel perfectly almost every time.
Edwin was most likely going on contact it was a possible doubleplay ball.

Sometimes it's worth a shot, even if the runner is thrown out at the plate you still have runners at first and second with two outs and a chance to keep the inning going, where a doubleplay ends the inning and any chance of scoreing more runs that inning.

If you do, I think you should post it at Reds.com, I'm sure it would spark an interesting discussion.

While the pitching certainly has not been helping itself - after all, Harang is 0-7 with a 5.17 ERA in his last 11 starts and has not won since May 25 - this offense is such a joy to watch.

He didn't commit to going though, the throw was high and up the line, so if he committed it at least could have been a play at the plate

    All of us do.

Added to that sadness is that the enthusiasm that Joe showed is nowhere to be found. Marty (and I love Marty) told it like it was today. The team is simply horrible. Jeff has stated the same things. Even Chris Welsh went on a tirade the other night. It seems that everyone sees the problems but the management and field management. You have to wonder where Joe would come down on these things. Would he be as enthusiastic? I sincerely doubt it. This is such a mess that even Joe would have had problems with it. And so it goes.
