I don't know the exact day but his father died in August so the anniversary of his death could be affecting him again.

Joey's father passed away on August 8th, 2008 so that anniversary has all ready come and gone. I hope they let us know soon what's going on so the speculation doesn't get too crazy tonight.

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

Pretty sure the one year anniversary was August 8th. He looked pretty out of sync in SF, so I figured he was having a rough time. Anniversaries are so tough.

Now a 4 pitch walk loads the bases.

Walk to Uribe to load them up, w/ 1 out, for Zito.

Got the 4-6-3 DP. Good job walking the tight rope there.

Zito grounds into a 4-3 DP to end the inning. 0-0 mid 2nd.

Arroyo dodged a fatal bullet with the bases loaded situation. With this lineup, even two runs might mean a loss. Man, is this team lacking in punch. And the answer is Stubbs? I really can't figure this team out.

At this point in the season. what else do you want them to do? The time for making moves to improve the offense came and went a long time ago.

Hmmm, this is a curious thing from C.Trent's blog and this doesn't sound like a guy who wasn't feeling great today.

*STIRRUPS BENCHED: I asked Joey Votto if the stirrups he sported Tuesday night were a permanent thing, he said no.
“But every game you’ve worn them in your big league career, you’ve hit a homer,” I told him.
“Well, maybe I should wear them all the time,” he said.
    “That’s what I’m saying!” I replied.
They also showed him during Reds Live coverage of BP when they were showing Stubbs and Joey seemed totally fine. I wonder what's going on.

Then there no reason for fans to come out or watch. Look at the stadium. No one wants to see this emasculated team play. At least appear like you are doing something by playing guys who can actually hit (although I realize that it's a challenge), so it looks like you're doing something, even if you're not.

Um, Gomes and Balentin are playing tonight.

    Thought Balentien had it there.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
