Tough game to lose after playing the Dodgers tight. At least we know the boys on the field haven't quit yet.
If you have a losing record at Reds games, please stop going.

With the exception of yesterday's 7th inning, it was a weekend of baseball worth watching.

Is that good or bad use of the very expensive pitcher?

When he gets to 100 pitches, take him out.

Re: 8/30/09 - Reds vs. Dodgers

It was a good weekend of baseball with Cincy being in the two bookend games and in the middle game until the middle. Not bad, but not good enough. The Reds scored 10 runs total in the series. When your lineup starts with .212 and follows with .228 (that's ..255 and .299 for you OBP fanatics), you're two outs before you can say anything. The middle is better at .312, .264, .273, and .281, but you end with .203 and .214. If Votto gets on, they you've got a chance or if you begin a inning with Votto and have to get through Phillips, Rolen, and Gomes, you might produce a run. Otherwise, you're screwed unless someone hits a HR. Tough stuff.

The Reds, in order to win more games, must find a leadoff hitter, a hitting shortstop, and a power hitting outfielder. If not, this is your Cincinnati Reds for 2010.

WV, I just don't see us finding/affording all those things. As a backup plan I suggest one SP to solidify the rotation and one bat.

I know. That was a wish list and don't even think the SP and the bat will happen. We're going with:

    1B - Votto
    2B - Phillips
    3B - Rolen
    SS - Janish
    LF - Gomes/Nix
    CF - Dickerson/Stubbs
    RF - Bruce
    C - Hannigan - Scrub

    SP - Harang
    SP - Arroyo
    SP - Cueto
    SP - Bailey
    SP - Owings

RP - What you see now

That's the 2010 Reds. May God have mercy on us all.
