I expected Burton to pitch against the righty hitters there. Thing is that Massett, Rhodes and Coco cannot work every single day. With the Weathers and Roenicke trades, and with Fisher down, the pen is thinner.

We could see Viola today, possibly.

But I agree that Burton needs to be replaced next year.

Whoa whoa whoa, let's not go THAT far. He's bad, but a Majewski comparison is cruel.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Danny Ray gets the DP ball, as he so often does. Reds need one to tie heading to the eighth.

6-4-3 DP ends the inning. 2-1 Braves after 7.

Perhaps they can send him away from the big league club for awhile so he remembers how to pitch, ala Cueto and Homer?

Reds bullpen had a good year, but the two disappointments were Lincoln and Burton. I thought Jared might be getting it back later in the year, but it hasn't really worked out.

Anderson and McLouth run into each other on a fly ball and Anderson hangs on for the catch. 2 outs.
