    9/8/09 - Reds vs. Rockies

    Stubbs CF
    Janish SS
    Votto 1B
    Phillips 2B
    Rolen 3B
    Gomes LF
    Balentien RF
    Tatum C
    Maloney P

    Roxs:
    Young
    Gonzalez
    Helton
    Atkins
    Smith
    Hawpe
    Torrealalba
    Barmes
    Marquis

Marquis better not throw a single pitch inside to Rolen after last time.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Rockies go up 1-0 in the 1st on a Young double, sacrifice, Helton sac fly.

Now outscored 110-71 in the 1st inning, in their 138th game. A 7-17 earnie (if they were all earned, certainly they werent')

The Young double was the other edge of the Gomes double edge sword. Most decent outfielders would have had that ball.

I liked seeing Balentien fight back from 0-2 to 3-2. He k's on a good swing...but pretty good plate presence from this kid.

Maloney looks to be throwing a little harder tonight workin 90-91 with the fastball. Hopefully it makes the change more effective.

Maloney ends the Rockie inning with a K. 1-0 Rockies.

He wanted none of Votto's parts. Not a one.
