Corky with the lead off HBP. Way to lean into one Corky! LOL.

I thought I'd seen some offensively challenged catchers with the Reds in the past, but Corky is a black-hole of suckitude at the plate. Yikes.

    Bronson in to pinch run.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Gameday shows those first two pitches to Sutton being about two feet outside. Is this kid that wild?

    Janish delivers!

Who will really turn out to be the better hitter?--Stubbs or Janish?

It is disturbing to watch Stubbs swing through a fat 86 mph slider like that.
    Does it bother anyone else?

Stubbs is going to be a very hard call, I think. All the bad trends of his minor league career are still there but now there's this power surge. So who knows how to evaluate it?

Just stepped in for the first time in awhile, and turned on the TV to see two terrible calls on Phillips. Why. One of those pitches was at the ankles.

Back to back K's for Masset.

I've seen him several times, and the answer is yes. He'll go sidearm sometimes and when it swings outside it's JUUUUUUUST a bit outside. In other words...hide the mascots. :O)

Nice play by Carlos Lee on the Nix flyball in the lights. He's been having a tough time out there tonight.

Stubbs has a much higher ceiling, but has a lot of issues at the plate.

To give an idea of Janish's ceiling, it seems like he is crushing the ball lately, but his latest streak has been at a .712 OPS rate (not counting tonight).

I'd say unless Stubbs just never develops at all, Stubbs will be the better hitter.
