    Ugh.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

It would really suck for Homer not to get the W here...

    And he doesn't. Damn.

Grounder to short but the run scores. No W for Homer. That's a damned shame.

And the Marlins are winning 3-2.

There's some blame on Balentien too, and I'm sure Dusty will punish him for it. But it's not like letting the lead-off guy on meant that CoCo had to give up basehits to every guy after that.

And the hits keep rollin' in. Cordero out.

It's a bloomin' shame. But I refuse to get too down on Cordero. He's been VERY good all year long. I'm also not going to get down on Baker there. In that situation, you go to your horse. Period.

Credit just goes to the Fish for stepping up at the right time. Still sucks though.

I'm not gonna blame Balentein either. He clearly lost that in the lights...something I've seen quite a bit of lately. Carlos Lee had the exact same thing happen last series to him on that play where he fell down.

Cordero got nickled and dimed though he gave Cantu a meatball. Sometimes baseball isn't fair.
"This isn’t stats vs scouts - this is stats and scouts working together, building an organization that blends the best of both worlds. This is the blueprint for how a baseball organization should be run. And, whether the baseball men of the 20th century like it or not, this is where baseball is going."---Dave Cameron, U.S.S. Mariner
