Nice to see Jay with a hit.
It's been a free and easy 92/93. Like I said, he hasn't really dialed it up yet. Frankly, he hasn't had to. He's been in pretty good command. A lot of ground balls.

Gracious, that is one manly moustache on Miller. My first time really seeing him since his call-up.

It's like he stole it from Thomas Magnum.

Reds catcher's have been slacking in mustache/facial hair since the loss of Fu Manchu LaRue and pornstache Javy. It's nice to see Corky pick up the slack.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Jeez, is this Hart kid really as wild as Gameday is showing? Wow.

Their starters are all pretty young but there's a nice group there right now. They've shut down a few of them after they hit their innings marks for the year but for rookies, they weren't too bad this year. Tillman, Matusz, Bergeson (he's been shut down after getting injured during a game several weeks ago), and Hernandez all have decent potential and Guthrie has had a bit of a Harang like year this year after having two solid years for the O's previously. They could use a veteran guy to help stabilize things for a year or two though. They also have some younger arms still working in the minor leagues so I think their pitching is actually coming around. I really like Matusz out of that group and Arrieta has a lot of potential too (he's at AAA right now). If you ask Orioles fans what they like about their team, I think most of them would tell you "Nothing!" because they're over the whole rebuilding thing and would love to see the O's not lose 100 game this year, LOL

No more O's talk from me....back to the Reds now. Sorry about that!

Pirates broacasters could introduce the fans by name if they wished.

    Hart finally dispatches Bailey.

    4-0 middle of 4.

Aww, that was nice of them to do a little tribute to Hal in Pittsburgh.

Pirates apparently did a tribute to Hal McCoy between innings. Good for them. Uber-classy.

Nasty split finger there from Bailey. Goodness. On an 0-1 pitch. Bottom dropped out and came in at 83 just off the plate and below the knees. Swinging strike. Guy had o chance.

I'd really like to see the Reds do it again (in regards to Hal) with a close to packed house. Opening day?

Now Homer can't get the ump to call the high strike on a curve. Counts full on the leadoff guy.
