Yeah, and Matt throws with the other hand. And Jim came from SoCal while Matt came from Sandusky. Enough!

Jay now goes the other way for another hit and nearly has an error in judgment, but is safe at 2nd.

Bruce has had some nice swings lately. That time he served it out to the opposite field and then stretched to a double. Now he moves to third on a ground out by Balentien.

Jim Maloney only gave up .7 HR/9. Matt has given up 9 in about 35 IP.

I'm impressed with Juan's approach in this game. He seems to be taking advantage of his chance to play a full game tonight.

You know, back in those days (I think I was 13 in 1964), I didn't pay much attention to anything but strikeouts and wins. I used to remember one of the old timers who used to watch games with Dad and I in those day say, "typical Maloney--walk two and strike out three."

Moehler's been throwing the ball well lately without much success...not tonight though. Pretty pedestrian stuff. And with that...he's toast. Bullpen time.

Francisco/Gomes for the LF platoon in 2010. Cisco can spot in at 3B once in a while to get Gomes more ABs.

Francisco will soon be the Reds' cleanup hitter. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, maybe not in 2010... but soon.

I agree that Juan's looked good so far. But he's still VERY susceptible to the breaker. He looks VERY bad on the big curveball IMO.

Jim Maloney is the all time best Reds pitcher since 1950. Maybe ever.

Pretty sure I'll go to tomorrow night's game.
