Agree to disagree......you have a deep bench and bullpen is rested. IF it was before SEPT i can see it but now?

Baseball is like church. Many attend, few understand
YESSIREE!
Well he almost showed why he should have been pulled....and this is not an isolated thing. Dusty did that a few times with Arroyo and Harang.
But i do see...the Cueto has to pitch deeper into games so it might as well be now theory.
For me, it's more of a quesiton of which you consider more important. This one win late in a season already over, or buiding up the confidence of a young cog of the rotation for next season? I'd take the latter. Especially with him coming off his best inning of the game.
First ab in a LOOOOONG time that Joey looked bad in.
Cueto has had an issue of being overworked. That has to be considered in to the decision process. He probably has one more start this year. It's Houston, its hot. Not the time for "teaching lessons".
Dusty tends to script his game plan the same way, no matter who is involved.
That really bothers me (among other things about Dusty).
CF hits first, SS second, C eighth. SP goes 7, and if I can squeeze 8 out of him, better.
Cueto, and Bailey still have to be coddled a bit, IMO.
Volquez, too...if we get him back.

Cueto's already missed several starts in a row a month ago. He's fairly rested. His pitch count is quite low. And the roof's closed. They're playing in A/C. It's quite cool in there. I would've been ok with it either way, but it's kind of hard to be too critical of Dusty on this one.

Berkman k'd to end the inning. Nice outing for Cueto.
7 innings, 5 hits allowed & 5 k's. The 4 walks hurt but I think only 2 of them were deserved. The ump was VERY tight with Johnny early on.
