He's not passed away, and in fact, just celebrated his 97th Birthday a few days ago. Vince Pesky, brother and teammate of Johnny Pesky of the Red Sox, and both from Silverton, Oregon, is looking great. A friend of mine from Grade School got a couple people together, mainly Tommy Sullivan, as Vince was our Vice-Principle in H.S. and he liked Tommy a lot. For those avid boxing followers from the '70's, Tommy won the National AAU Light Heavyweight Title in '75 and lost to Michael Spinks in the Olympic Trials of '76. His brother, Johnny, lost in those same trials, in Cleveland, I believe.

I spent many a lazy day watching the Portland Beavers and twiddling away the hours in the stands listening to old baseball stories from Vince. That's the baseball I love.

Vince, btw, goes by his real name, Peskovic.

Specifically, Lewy Body dementia, the same disease that drove Robin Williams to suicide. Devastating.

Buckner's batting style looks like it was lifted directly from Pete Rose.

Buckner was a great hitter and enjoyed watching him it. Sad he had to die that way.

I really hated to hear of Buckner's death. I had no idea he had dementia and the worst type of it too. I got to really like him as a player when he was with the Cubs and I watched them nearly everyday on WGN. He was a naturally good hitter. He always was in the top of the league in batting. I always thought he got such a bum rap for his error in the 86 World Series. Totally unfair the way he was treated afterwards. He was such a good player and seemed like a good person to have to carry that burden with him. As I am saying often anymore, another one on my cardboard hero's is gone. RIP Bill Buckner thanks for all the pleasure you gave me watching you hit all those years.

Sad to hear about Buckner. My wife passed from Dementia complications a couple of years ago. It wasn't Lewy Body, but the effects are the same. It's a tough disease to endure and maybe tougher for those around him. At this point, Buckner's passing probably is a great burden removed from his caretakers while still being a huge tragedy. Sympathy to his loved ones

Not saying they comp style wise, but I anticipate Jesse Winker's career production to be very similar to Bill Buckner's. He was a very good player for a long time.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!
