I used to come down from Columbus for some Clones games...but I really wish they still played in the Gardens...no offense, but I have been underwhelmed by US Bank Arena, that place needs a serious upgrade...at least the Gardens had some old time character..

I agree, US Bank arena is a very underwhelming place. Not like the palace that is Nationwide.

Hindsite is 20/20 but the Cyclones' move to downtown was catastrophic. It led to several bankruptcies as I recall and left no winners. No question the Gardens was the better venue.

    Re: 2009-10 Cincinnati Cyclones

I was at the game last night for the first time. The US Bank Arena clearly wasn't ready for all the people that showed up. I showed up at 7:00 but had to wait in line 35 minutes to get my tickets. The concession stand lines were almost as bad. Unbelievably, the $1 beer lines were the shortest in my section.

I saw something really funny next to the ice. A fan had been stacking beer cans on the wall, and every time a player got checked into his pyramid of beer cans, all of them would fall, and he would feign anger. It was hilarious. It happened three times that I can remember.

The Cyclones outmatched the Toledo Walleye and won 5-2. It was a very good time. I get the feeling that there are normally no more than 2,000 fans in the arena, but over 10,000 fans showed up last night. The lines were the only thing about the night that I didn't like. If they bring down the prices, I'll be showing up more often.

Thought this deserved a bumb! Huge Overtime win in Game 5 of the Kelly Cup Playoffs first round! 3-2 win! 16 Mins of overtime. They even stopped a 5-3 in overtime. Can we bring the Cup Back to Cinci !

Round 2 Starts Friday Night in North Carolina Charlotte Checkers!
