While many haven't noticed...Janish isn't exactly swinging a wet noodle out there either. He's been hitting VERY well. With some pop too.

Chris Burke pops out. That will keep him from trying to steal home again.

    4-0 Reds middle of four.

I've noticed. Good for him. That can only help the club as he will likely see a decent amount of time.
Benzinger backing and calling! And the 1990 world championship series belongs to the Cincinnati Reds!

Sorry, missed the first hitter. Apparently there are now two quick outs after a fly out.

    Leake is mowing them down.

    Kurt Suzuki flies out.

Three up and three down again for the A's.

    4-0 Reds after four.

Folks, I gotta run to get my kids, someone else will need to fill in for pbp if possible.

Man does Leake sound ready for the bigs. We shall see...

I'll take over and do some PBP, unless until Leake departs.

Unless Wood is lights out, how do you NOT give the 5th slot to Leake? I know the arguments for getting him some time in the minors to get accustomed to the 5 man rotation, but shouldn't we be putting the BEST pitcher available in that slot? Chapman is coming back from the back spasms, so he's out IMO. Wood, Leake, Malony & Lehr are the options. Can't see it NOT being Leake right now.

Balentin grounds out to Rosales on the first pitch of the inning.

    1 down

Rolen made some sort of out.

Nix with a 2 out hit.

*trf will be happy to eat crow if this is the real Drew Stubbs.

forgive me if i don't hold my breath. But if it is, he makes the Reds more interesting.

Well, the A's aren't exactly the BRM. Wood will be facing a much tougher lineup. I think it will be Leake, but this outing can be deceiving.
