Nice to see the guys giving him so much support in the dugout.
"I tried to play golf, but I found out I wasn't very good." -Joey Votto on his offseason hobby search

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

    I'd settle for one.

Worried about the velocity, but that sinker for the K was filthy, so that's good.

Cabrera seems allergic to working the count. He's up there to hack, and he's up there to hack early.

Never followed Cabrera before, but color me unimpressed with his approach. He's up there a-hackin'.

Soriano is an adventure in left. He leaps and misses on what should have been an easy catch.

BTW, hell of a job to get out of that.
Like Caveat Emperor, I think it's pretty debatable whether Leake should be here so soon.

    But what's done is done.

Good to see Reds hitters making Gorzellany work hard.........
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Quick 1-2-3 first as Stubbs strikes out, Cabrera pops out and Votto strikes out swinging.

And he certainly wouldn't have had any jitters then, right?

Mike Leake wishes he was making his first start against the Reds offense.

Re: 4/11/10 - Reds vs. Baby Bears: We've Got a Major Leake

The entire Reds lineup this year, outside of Stubbs and Dickerson, has been totally pathetic at working opposing starters. They're giving up easy outs to opposing starters and rarely making pitchers labor to get through an inning or throw high-stress pitches.

If it doesn't change, this offense is going to continue to struggle.

Fontenot grounds out Leake on the first pitch.
