Locating his fastball. It was a problem first half of last year, and now this year. He gets THAT straightened out, he'll be fine. But mercy....shooting for a 30 pitch 1st inning now.

I took a shower and hit 732 on my UVerse cable and saw exactly what I figured I'd see, as in a lead for the Dodgers.

Homer with 31 pitches in the 1st inning: 14 strikes and 17 balls.

    Mercy.

Time to get Owings awake down there...

    Re: Dodgers at Reds 4-20-10

Homer has clearly been struggling out there, in terms of throwing strikes and overall mechanics, since his first start this year. I thought maybe it was a rough patch or so, but it's getting to be a bit much.

He really seems to have regressed. Where's the top notch velocity? The snap on the breaking ball? Any semblance of control??

Looked to me like Homer was rushing to the plate a little with his body.

And I'm already sick of Welsh making excuses for Homer. Chris just needs to stop making excuses and say Homer was incapable of locating his fastball.

The Reds sure aren't much fun to watch this last week.
