Smith's got some very good movement. I didn't see him tonight and I'm sorry it went against us, but he's got a good future.

One other random thought, I thought Dusty managed a heckuva game and pushed the right buttons. He had Owings set up to go long if need be, used Bray smartly, and did a nice job maximinizing the bench, especially considering they were short-handed.

I was not thrilled with the squeeze, but can certainly live with the call, although I wish Dusty did not ask players to get out of their comfort zone. For whatever reason, Stubbs isn't a good bunter.

Regardless, solid game from the manager and his coaches tonite, sometimes you just come up short.

Phillies fan doesn't let Werth catch the ball and Werth cusses at him while the guys little kid is standing right next to him:

Totally agree. I found myself telling my wife, "I like this/that move" just about every single thing Dusty did tonight. The team just didn't hit w/ RISP tonight.

The Reds had won 9 straight extra inning games on the road (that what the Phillie announcers said). So I guess it had to end sometime.

Smith had the Phillies hitters pounding balls into the dirt, and I'm not sure why he went curveball to Schnieder, who isn't a great hitter. I thought the Reds battled, Cueto pitched another good game in a park that makes GABP look like Safeco, and hopefully they can come out and get a win tonight.

my wife said it best. what was the guy supposed to do, not try and catch it and let the ball hit him or the kid? It landed in his seat. He didn't reach out and take it away.

Heat of the moment for Werth. It's not like he stood there and berated the guy. He tried to make the catch, the guy got in his way, and he was ticked. and said a couple of things. Then it was over.

If you don't want your kid to hear cursing, I wouldn't take him to a sporting event. The fans are much, much worse than the players are.

Wow. Stopped watching this game in the 4th, and then just now check to see how it ended up. Wow. bad way to lose. Looks like they'll get 'em tonight though!

I'd rather listen to Kelch read the phone book than suffer through Thom Brennaman's attempt to make every instance on the field the most important event since the discovery of manned space flight. -westofyou
