I'd rather listen to Kelch read the phone book than suffer through Thom Brennaman's attempt to make every instance on the field the most important event since the discovery of manned space flight. -westofyou

who is the Cubs color announcer??? He just said that he would have perferd the cubs to nail Votto for his comments during the all star break then pitch to him. It was funny when he said it.

    Re: 8/27- Reds vs. Cubs

Baker just can't resist the urge to play small-ball, can he? Nothing like playing for 1 run in the first...

And I love Bruce batting higher in the order since he's calmed down (the Edmonds influence supposedly). The kid crushes the ball when he makes contact. A little less chasing out of the zone and his production could sky rocket.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I'm liking this quicker working Cueto. I don't think I've seen him pitch this quickly all year.
