Great inning from LeCure. 2 grounders and a K. I like him in this role.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I don't think so. It's early in the game, the situation calls for the long man...that is Lecure's current role in the bullpen. He's the long man...it's as simple as that.

    Re: 8/29- Reds vs. Cubs

Several of you think Ondrusek losing Dusty's trust because he didn't come in for the 6th? I don't follow.

Didn't Ondrusek throw a scoreless 7th in SF on Wednesday before he had problems in the 8th?

Seems to me Dusty sees Ondrusek as his 7th inning or so guy, not a "long man". And not sure where Ondrusek has "lost trust" unless I am forgetting other bad outings of late.

In any event, great inning from Lecure, exactly what you want to see from a relief pitcher in that situation.

Bruce has the prettiest swing on the team when he connects.

Bruce turning it on would be HUGE for this team down the stretch, taking a lot of pressure off of Votto.
