Bruce has more HR in August (7) than he had in May, June and July combined (6).
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

He was due to hit a lot of homers in a short period of time. He just has too much power.

[QUOTE=membengal;2233568]Several of you think Ondrusek losing Dusty's trust because he didn't come in for the 6th? I don't follow.

Didn't Ondrusek throw a scoreless 7th in SF on Wednesday before he had problems in the 8th?

Seems to me Dusty sees Ondrusek as his 7th inning or so guy, not a "long man". And not sure where Ondrusek has "lost trust" unless I am forgetting other bad outings of late.[QUOTE]

Ondrusek has had a few subpar outings of late.

Not just the 8th inning in SF.

I think, however, that mainly Dusty was impressed with Lecure's last outing. He has looked good since recalled for longer relief. He may be going better than Ondrusek at this moment.

In any event, great inning from Lecure, exactly what you want to see from a relief pitcher in that situation.[

I think he needs a little rest. OCab seems to be coming back just in time.
