Yes, that's why they call it the 'Long Man'...he comes in when you need more than one inning. Ondrusek was warming up in case Lecure's spot came up to bat with runners on...then they would have pinch hit for him.

Brenly just compared the Big Boy mascot to Rod Blagojevich; hilarious.

LeCure is in there precisely because he can comfortably go 2-3 innings so that Dusty doesn't have to use 4 guys.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Oh I'm sorry. Normally you don't see long men pitching in the 7th inning of a one run game. My fault.

Yeah I laughed when he said that. He has a point too.

Two great innings of work from LeCure. Do you let him work a third?

Soriano strikes out swinging. Great job by LeCure. 4-3 Reds mid 7th.

Yes, I remember the days when the long man started in the fourth.

Fair point, but the Reds don't exactly have a dominating middle reliever, assuming you want to keep both Masset and Rhodes available.
