Bruce out again. That's not a good sign.

Hopefully Bruce's problem is not an oblique muscle. Apparently he hurt his side during batting practice yesterday.

It may not be a good sign, but given Dusty's history of holding guys out an extra day or 2 after he thinks they're fully healthy, or at least healthy enough to play, I never thought there was a chance he'd play today w/ tomorrow's off day. If he's not in the lineup friday evening, then I'll be concerned about a long term injury.

Maybe he really is taking after Edmonds.. that's what Edmonds is out with, right?

Cairo is back for the first time since SF. I thought he got cleated in the 10th or 11th before his double

7 game lead, mediocre lefty on the mound, Cards this weekend, an extra day makes a lot of sense.

I think it was a hamstring tweek or something like that but apparently he's been doing baseball activities for the last few days. Valaika has done well in BP's absence but giving Cairo a start tonight doesn't bother me at all. Get him some ABs and keep him fresh for these upcoming games.

I would love to break out the brooms this evening. Go Reds!

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

    Per Fay:

Bruce is out at least a few days. He said it's near his ribs. Wasn't sure if it's an oblique. getting treat, no baseball activity. #reds

Chat's open. The beer is warm, but at least it's free.
