Yes I can. Pitch count is not always the primary consideration.

Homer was facing the middle of the Cards order for the third time. No way I would allow that happen with men on base.

I'm not second guessing, I said it in an earlier post.

Tomorrow is Harang vs. Jiminez. I wouldn't be saving the pen for that matchup. I would have used Masset today in that key spot. It was pivotal.

I had no problem walking Pujols, although I understand the contrary argument. But Dusty put too much reliance on Homer there.

    How so? Carpenter?
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

The intentional walk. There wasn't any point to it. Holliday is a .300 hitter with 25 homers and had a double already against Bailey. It didn't really gain much to walk Pujols.

Wouldn't surprise me if Carpenter finished this game.

Just a stupid, stupid lapse from Bailey.

Yeah, I would have pitched to Pujols as well. But strategically, I wouldn't call it a blunder. Starting Gomes today, that was a blunder.

There's that too, but frankly the Reds haven't scored much against this bunch this series (or this year for that matter) without aid from the Cardinals' defense.

The rate Gomes, Heisey, Stubbs, et all are striking out, the Reds aren't going to be able to mount a rally big enough to win this game.

Yeah, they clearly should've started Cairo in left. :O) They've got 3 OF'ers healthy. Not really much choice there.
