Actually, we've gotten our fair share of luck today. The problems' been that we haven't "stung" enough balls. Very few hard hit balls today from the Reds.

McClellan in. Scott out on the first pitch. *sigh*

That's fine, but he's been pretty good over his last 10-12 appearances.

That pretty much solidified my belief this game is over with.

Man, what a heartbreaker. Homer just seems to be five-inning pitcher now, doesn't he?

Homer right now, at this stage, is a five to six inning pitcher. He tends to fade in the middle of the game.

It's not a tragedy if the manager recognizes it. If Dusty goes to the pen early in tough spots in the middle innings.

    Today was a perfect example.

So Nick Masset, who could have won this game for the Reds, gets a day of rest.

Strikeout row is due up for 'Nati in the 9th, sandwiched in between a single from Hanigan.

I doubt they'll have more than 1 strikeout in the 9th

Nice pitch by Smith to get Albert. Very nice.

Well, I suppose I was speaking metaphorically...

I wish quality relief appearances would count for runs for the Reds.

Re: Reds at Cards - 9-5-10 "Going for the jugular"

This game will probably mean little in the scheme of things, I just wanted the Reds to win the series to make me feel better.

I do wish Bailey could get on a consistent roll. The Reds need him in October to be the guy from the end of last year. Today seemed like a step forward and ending up being two steps back in the end.
