If we win, we play the winner of Columbus/Scranton Wilkes Barre for the IL Championship
If we win that, we play the PCL Champion for the AAA National Championship
I root for the Bats. Any Red affiliate is my favorite in that league.
When Louisville's parent clubs weren't located in the Queen City, I had much less invested and went only five or six times a season. Now, I'm there 20 or 30 times a year, maybe more.

Nope. The IL championship series is 5 games, and the AAA National Championship is actually one game, and is in Oklahoma City regardless of the teams (The IL team has home advantage this year). However, the Bats are not in either just yet...
For me, following the minors is an extension of being a Reds fan. I never used to follow, but with the internet it's so easy to track prospects. I remember circling Votto, Valaika, Bruce, Cueto and Bailey back in 2006 or 2007 and as they progressed I was kind of hooked on the relevance of following the minors. Now I love it and it helps fill the off season with speculation. To me, it's natural to reward the teams and players with my rooting interest because I already get so much out of it. I want all the Reds affiliates to be successful and I enjoy going to games at any level, when I can. I just wish I lived in North Carolina like muddie and cinreds21!
